I want to do something special for my husband tonight. He has been having a ruff time at work because work is slow and he hasn't been sleeping much due to the fact that we have a one week old baby.
I would like to make something special for him for dinner when he gets home tonight. Any suggestions on a menu?

well since baby is only 1 week old...that rules out anything "special" after dinner.
but I agree with the other replys...his favorite meal and a glass of wine, beer, soda pop, or whatever he likes.

In 6 weeks, serve him his fave again ..and you in nothing but an apron and stockings.

uhhh, what dinner?

When in doubt...make comfort food. It doesn't have to be fancy like rack of lamb or whatever. Just think about something that will make him relax completely...even if it's a basket full of fries. Think of his favorite food when he is happiest.. Maybe it's eating chicken wings on the sofa with his favorite beer... If he likes to be pampered....have his favorite mixed drink/beer ready to be poured when he gets home. Get his favorite wine and have a simple quite meal...rub his feet...get him a cigar... Make something familiar....don't try any new stuff tonight, I'm sure you are both tired!! Men always like steak just make it with special garlic mashed potatoes...You know your man...you'll know what to make...Then you can be dessert!! Good luck and congratulations!!

it depends on what his preferences are. if you are looking for something quick and easy, which i would take as a yes since there is a one week old. try chicken. you can bake it with a sauce, do some roasted red potatoes and some green beans or asparagus. get a nice bottle of wine and some condles, and most importantly desert. desert doesn't only taste good, but it ties the meals together, and dresses any dinner up, even mac and cheese. good luck, and i know your husband will appreciate every second of it.

To start: A slow marinade in a candle lit bath with you
Main : A well done rump on a bed of cotton sheets
Pudding: Sweet nothings whispered in his ear!

Get back as soon as you can to a menu of romance and love for each other - never forget the people that fell in love!

Good luck Sweet lady - you are one in a million!

Easy awesome chicken dish:
Take a pyrex dish and put foil in the bottom and spray with pam
Take 6 boneless chicken breast and put in the pyrex dish
Put a slice of provolone cheese on each breast
Then you take 2 cream of chicken cambells soups to 1/3 EACH of milk and mix and pour over chicken
Then you need a bad of pepperidge farm seasoned stuffing mix in a blue bag.
Pour over the top and bake for 45 min on 325

I normally then make a pot of spaghetti.....he likes to eat it like a chicken parm........its sooooooo good....

Have fun with whatever you land up doing and Congrats on the new baby.......

Go to campbellskitchen.com they have a lot of excellent recipes and most of them are really easy to make. My boyfriend and i just got our own place so i went on that website and printed a bunch of recipes off to make for dinner through out the week and we have not come across one that we don't like yet. GOOD LUCK

I am making chili tonight. With crusty, fresh bread - yum....Just make him his favorit dish. If you can't get to the store because of the new baby, just make something that you have but light candles and draw him a bath.

How about his favorite meal? It is really hard to give you suggestions when we do not know what he likes, but a grilled Rib eye steak and baked potato is always a choice for my husband.

Does he like chicken? There is a great litte recipe on the back of the Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup. You take boneless chicken breast and put them w/ white rice and bake in the oven. It says 375 for 45 minutes, but I would bake it at 275 for one hour and a half---it makes it tender.

For desert: You
