i just got this email, it was "From" one of my contacts (i don't remember if she was just a "fan" of mine or if she was one of my "contacts"...) here it is:
From: tHiS iS kOrTnI
Subject: Remove tHiS iS kOrTnI from your page
Message: I am tHiS iS kOrTnI's mother. Do not email this child any more. If you truly are 21 years old, you have no buisness emailing a child, and I have already reported the abuse to yahoo answers.
You will be deleted from this child's list of contacts
Anyways, wtf?? ...i never emailed that person once!
...do you think my profile will get deleted... yet AGAIN?!

You can’t get anything from opening an email. In order to get something on your machine, you have to launch it by opening an attachment or clicking a hotspot, both of which may be contained in an email. It is possible that you clicked on something and have compromised your contact list, and in doing so, made your email address and access to Y!A available to the cyberyahoos. In that event, three things are advisable:
1. Run a Virus Scan.
2. Run a Spyware scan.
3. Change your Yahoo password.
It is also possible that tHiS iS kOrTnI clicked on something bad, and since you are in their contacts list, a macro on their end is wreaking havoc.
The good news is that there is no law against contacting minors. There are laws about soliciting minors for business or other unscrupulous activities, however, so it is prudent to report the email to Y!A with an explanation that at no time have you ever had email contact with tHiS iS kOrTnI. See the first attachment for an address to send your concerns to, and make sure you also send the concerns in such a way that you can CC another email address.

Ignorance is sometimes a good thing - if you don't know the person who sent the email then you should not open it. It is spam - they usually send a tiny piece of software called a macro to your machine and it reads your address book and details and sends it 'all' back to the sender who then in turn uses the detail for his/her own ends. You should run a ad-aware and spybot check and remember not to open such emails without knowing who they are from. If you do get reported to anyone then you should look at your setup a bit more. Most emails can be blocked by the parents by using an auto-responder with the afflicting message in it. Do a scan on your peecee asap. Good luck.

I agree with keith thousand. follow his advice, and give him best answer.
in continuation to his answer, ill give you some advice/programs which will clean up ur pc... if anything is actually wrong. some people just find it fun to do sh*t like that.
Windows Defender:
Will clean up viruses and spyware, though not very effective. Dont rely on this too much.
Location:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...
Spybot- Search And Destroy:
Will Clean up spyware and/or trojans.
Handy app. Quite reliable.
Location:
http://www.download.com/spybot-search-de...
Adaware 2007:
Will clean up spyware/trojans.
It has gotten bad reviews because of its bulk, compared to Adaware SE, but most people forget that the Virus and Trojan databases have been uopdated a lot more than the old version.

There are more, but you have to be an expert to use them.
oh, and advice. dont delete/clean anyhing youre not sure about.
Feel free to email/IM me if you need any help.
-shame-
PS: Its really probably a retarded person doing it for kicks. and if anyone, s/he should get reported. minors arent allowed on YA and if they are, their parents are at fault.
technically you have a 14 year old friend with benifets. im not freaking out though...
