So what do you think about this statement from Obama?

"There are some very capable Republicans who I have a great deal of respect for," Obama said in an interview with The Associated Press. "The opportunities are there to create a more effective relationship between parties."

Among the Republicans he would seek help from are Sens. Richard Lugar of Indiana, John Warner of Virginia and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, Obama said.

i will say this, Obama has the ability to make anything sound good. I actually like and respect the way he answered the question. How every as someone above me pointed out, Obama does not run his own campaign. He pays people to do that. Also, Obama stands behind Ray Nagin and his comments such as New Orleans is a "Chocolate City" and republicans "Don't like the black man"

It's a jab at the President and anyone who supports him. I feel the same about Joe Lieberman. I don't consider Obama among the "very capable Democrats."

Obama has no credibility in anything he says. So nothing he says is worth listening to.

He lost any respect I had for him when he vocalized his stance on granting amnesty and social security to all the illegal criminal aliens in this country.

He's making the same kind of (hands across the aisle... can't we all just get along?) noise Bush made when the Democrats got control of the congress. I just hope that he (or whoever is elected in '08) actually means it (unlike Bush).

I think it's a great statement - members from both sides of the aisle need to be willing to work together to get anything meaningful done.
