I work graveyard shift or third shift, that's from 10:00 pm and 6:00 am, and I've been assigned to this shift for almost two months already. I find myself extremely tired especially since I lack so much sleep. Since I worked in the third shift, I only get five to six hours of sleep a day, sometimes even four. Will power naps during my break at midnight work for me? I never really tried it yet. I don't want to change to another shift either, because I was hoping my body clock would eventually get used to this shift. I need all the help I can get from you guys.

Your body clock is still on its old time schedule. Power naps would absolutely make you feel better. They would give you more energy and alertness. Studies have proven that power naps improve the overall Well being of people.

If you just started the graveyard then you don't have to worry about a thing. You may be trying to do to many things during the daytime and run out of time to sleep. If not, then exercise after getting out at 6:00 a.m., go to the gym and literally burn the morning oil.

I worked with many people from graveyard for years. I was on day. They would be leaving when I would be arriving. Some people prefer graveyard cause they don't run out of time with the stores closing and paying bills and such.

Power naps, they work for me, but I'm daytime.

If nothing else works, see a doctor to provide with a sleeping aid.
