Most antique appraisers will charge you for an appraisal.

What I used to do when I wanted to price antiques...was head over to Barnes & Noble or Borders and browse through their antiques & collectible book section (they carry a broad selection of the same type of books the antique dealers use!)

Barnes and Nobles typically has 4 or 5 shelves filled with specialty reference and valuation guides ~ with something like a lunchbox that continues to be a hot collectible, you are bound to find a listing for it somewhere on the shelf!

I'm guessing that it's probably not an illustrated lunchbox ~ you may have to browse through tin collectibles, Western Americana, or Vintage kitchen collectibles to find it. If it doesn't turn up in those books, you can also leaf through a Kovel's antique guide.

Good luck!

If its in mint shape and complete, there are collectors of antique lunchboxes out there - id get an appraisal at an antique store.

You can take it to an antique appraiser. Or, to get a general value, check ebay and see what others are already paying for it.

I would look on ebay. There people buy and sell anything imaginable. If there is a need, that's the place people look first.

take it around and ask a few flea market dealers or search for a comparable one on eBay...

I'd throw the sandwich out. It probably isn't good to eat anymore.
