*** First of All****
[The Celtics of the 70's weren't exactly a dynasty. They won in '74 & '76 for a total of two that decade. The Knicks ('70 & '73) also won two titles that decade. The Bullets, who appeared in 4 NBA Finals during the 70's ('71, '75, '78 & '79), would have to be considered the nearest thing to a dynasty during the 70's. The problem is they only won once ('78).]
*** but I digress. ***
The Lakers & Celtics of the 80's and the 76ers of 1983 all would win 68 to 75 games during the regular season. they would only lose to each other (and on occasion the Spurs). The 1992 Bulls are not quite as good as the previously mentioned teams of the 80's, but they would win 63 - 67 games and cruise to an NBA title against the current NBA. That Bulls team would beat the Spurs in maybe 6 games. The other Bulls teams would be good and would mop the floor with the Lakers of the (Shaq Era), but they wouldn't beat the current Spurs team, or any of the Spurs teams. Jordan never had to face a player in the NBA Finals as great as Tim Duncan...(an old '91 Magic Johnson aside). When Jordan played in the Finals, (other than '91 & '96) the second best player on the court after him was his teammate Scottie Pippen. I would say the '99 & '05 Spurs would win titles at some point even if they went against the Bird Celtics, Jabbar & Magic Lakers or Julius' 76ers. Duncan, in spite of his prosaic and utterly monotonous style of play, is probably one of the 5 best players to ever play the game..(Wilt, Kareem, Magic & arguably Duncan, Jordan or Bird).... I drop Bird, but a case could be made for any two or those three being top 5.

The showtime Lakers and the Jordan/Pippen Bulls would do fine, win championships and offer allstars and MVPs, perhaps the Bird Celtics as well. All teams with great back to the basket post men and decent supporting casts would do fine, especially Houston and Olajuwon, the Nick with Ewing. Not so sure about the Bad Boy Pistons. Wilt and Bill Russell would be very good because of their speed, they would even outrun todays fastest post players. Bob MacAdoo would fill it up today. Barkley would kill, there would be no answer for him today same for Mosses Malone they would be one man wrecking crews.
The league is in good shape today, good defense, athletic big men are under development, some good team play, great and exciting stars, but to many teams and talent is spread thin, shooting is way down. The showtime Lakers would run most right off the court and not just due to the starters but deep and talented bench as well.
Todays Spurs would matchup well with Birds Celtics or the Bad Boy Pistons, easily beat Utah with Stockton and Malone, give Olajuwon and Houston trouble (probably more than they could handle) in a seven game series. Sixers with Wilt, Billy Cunningham and even an aging Hal Greer would beat most of todays teams and the Nicks deepest team with Frazier, Lucas, Dave D., Willis Reed, Meminger, Phi Jackson would oulast even the best teams from the west. Bill Waltons Blazers would be tough to beat but I think the spurs could do it. The Sonics, Bucks, Bullets and Warriors championship teams would not be that good in my estimation.

The Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain Lakers probably couldn't do jack today. Just look at what happened when Bill Russell came in. When Wilt finally had competition, Wilt sunk deep! And with Wilt being useless, Jerry West couldn't do jack either. Jerry West needed that big guy to draw the double teams.
But the showtime Lakers would dominate and so would the Jordan-Pippen Chicago Bulls. The Showtime Lakers had a complete game; they have inside, outside, plus the arguably greatest point guard ever in Magic Johnson. There are 2 different Bull dynasties, one with Rodman and one without. Both teams would dominate. No one could guard Jordan in his prime, and even if you got Jordan, can you guard Pippen, who's so clutch that he makes just about every shot! Not to mention that Jordan is defensive player of the year. And with Rodman, the king of boards, there's no way you would win.
But then even non-dynasties could dominate today's game. If the Malone-Stockton Jazz come out in their prime, who will stop them? Tim Duncan and the Spurs might, but the Spurs are dominate today.
And Bill Russell's Celtics? They had few competition. We already talked about how Wilt is pretty much useless, But there were only like 4 big men in Bill Russell's time. And the Larry Bird Celtics? Maybe they can be best compared to today's Dallas Mavericks. Win the most games, and don't win championship. Larry Bird got lucky one year when they won in 7, cause Magic got sick or something. Although they did not repeat and only won twice, Larry's second ring included Bill Walton. And that team dominated. And in today comparison, it'll be like Dallas Mavericks plus Shaq. So of course, Dallas would dominate if they had Shaq.
What about the Shaq era Lakers? If it's Kobe in 2001 where he didn't complain about being Shaq's sidekick, then yes. But if it's that 2002 and later Shaq-Lakers, then no.

depends on what team vs. who. i mean you can compare, and compare all of the teams, and never figure it out. to know for sure you would have to watch like every single game of every single team that season. our new teams aren't any better then the old teams. people back from the 70's and 80's still hold records that the current players haven't beat. pretty muchly that is the proof that nothing much has changed since the past except a few new players. the current teams aren't more advanced in any way then the old teams, and the rules haven't changed. i can't really be completely sure of who would win, so i guess that's up to you.

If you mean "The Green Machine," "Showtime," and the 90's Bulls in their prime, they would still do as well as they did during their time, against anyone.

Probably current because there was Wilt who scored crazy numbers and he would never get past the defense there is now and with the great defense now and Kobe scoring 81, probably now because there was no defense back then
