I called Blue Cross today to ask them a question about getting reimbursed for my daughters eyeglasses. She is 4 yrs old. They told me they couldn't give me info on her becuase she needs to sign and authorization form!
I told them that she is 4 and just out of preschool. I said does that make sence that you need her to sign anything??? She could barely write t her name !! The lady said, I understand that , but its the Hippa law and we need her authorization.!! OMG! How dumb was she???? Then she got on the pnone and said shes sorry she missinformed me and they don't need her signature she asked her manager. . Scary that this who is working for the insurance compaines isn't it??

Yes, it is very scary. She must have been very new, but then again everyone has to learn some time..

Wow, that is stupid... I heard a guy say once that he was paying for some items in a department store with his Credit card.. The check out girl took the card and said "I'm sorry sir but the back of your card is not signed." He said, "OK let me sign it, but why do you need my signature?" She replied. "So We can make sure it matches the signature on the receipt."
He said Ok then.. and handed the card back for her to swipe.. Then He signed his receipt and sure enough she stood there and verified that they matched. Thank God they did..

Insurance companies have a knee-jerk stonewall reaction to everything...They told me testing for allergies was a "preexisting condition" not covered by my policy, even though testing for something can't be a pre-existing condition and the policy EXPLICITLY covered testing in a paragraph marked "Allergy Testing"...idiots. I had to fight them through an appeals policy before they paid.

They're all just low-wage morons on the phones over there/ You have to double-check and triple-check them non-stop.

I have something:
1. it is spelled "sense".. not "sence"
2. "because" not "becuase"
3. misinformed instead of missinformed
4. companies instead of compaines
