History proves that nations rise and fall. I don't think ours will be any different. Most nations don't fall from external forces, though. They fall when the people on the inside are more concerned about what they can get out of the government than they are about the strength of the government, and they weaken the government by sucking the life out of it.

I think George Bush has done more to hasten the eventual downfall of America than any president in history, in two ways. One, he has turned world opinion against us, and two, he has put our nation in serious debt. A new President can probably solve problem 1, but solving problem 2 will take time, resources, and a strong national will. Nobody wants our nation to be in such debt, but nobody is willing to shoulder the burden of paying it off, either.

Kennedy said "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." If we all had that attitide, then America could possibly survive forever.

Rome fell over a division of its people. As did the Byzantines, we cannot forget the greatest empire of our time england which fell under economic hardship caused by the high price of war and maintaining colonies.

If you are one to believe that history repeats itself, or even at a minimum there is a lesson to be learning from the mistakes of the past you will have no choice but to recognize that America is suffering both a division of people and economic hardship and therefore on the way to collapse as an empire.

The U.S. has fallen further since bush was in office than in it's entire existence! I can't remember who it was that said "If the U.S. falls from facism it will come wrapped in a U.S. flag, carrying the bible." The damage done from 6 years of total G.O.P. control is almost beyond repair.

I do not think it will "fail" but I do think it will transform to socialism with time. Already we have socialism in some of our programs. With the passage of time and the mentality that the government owes one a living, socialism will grow in the US. The only thing that can change this is a return to one of the hard core basic concepts upon which this country was founded - personal responsibility.

Eventually, but not while I live. We're only a little over two hundred years old, so it's not like we're approaching the shelf life of nations yet; but everything that begins, ends someday.

From Immigration affecting congressional seats, study finds
By Jim Abrams, Associated Press Writer, The Associated Press, October 6, 1998:

The concentration of immigrants, who usually vote Democratic, will lead to more safe Democratic seats, said James Gimpel, a University of Maryland associate professor who is an expert on immigration issues .... "You are likely to see more partisan polarization on the immigration issue," he said.

Two comments from two unknown individuals, “Loge” and “Heidenlord” from Skadi Forum the largest Germanic online community forum:

Loge:

“seems that the uneducated immigrants usually vote towards the liberal party, wonder why that is?”

Heidenlord:

It has to do with a number of factors I believe. The first being socialist democracy. Democracy has been called "two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner" and I think it sums it up nicely.

A "hand-out" system will eventually corrupt even the best work ethic of the most respectable germanics, but for minorities it is a free-for-all. The poor will always outnumber the rich and when the poor are given the same amount of voting power as the rich it is only a matter of time until they vote themselves the national treasury. The framers of the American Constitution understood this and only allowed land-owning males the right to vote because they understood that only those who have a vested interest in the affairs of the government should have a say in government.

The greatest fallacy in the world is to give someone who can't make money, buy land, or lead a normal life a say in government. What makes people believe that individuals who are failures are going to make a wise choice altogether, I will never know. Governments don't run on good intentions but are governed by the same laws of nature that guide everything else here on earth; governments cannot take blood from a stone nor can they create wealth, they really only consume wealth.

When governments start taking orders from those who can't even balance their own checkbook, we know the end is near. All Democracies have ended in a dictatorship because one day the "free lunch" is over and someone has to stand up and say this and be prepared to "bash some heads" when the hangovers start from the democracy/socialism induced free-for-all.

Several months back I wrote an essay about a chain email. The gist of the email was that democracies throughout history have always been temporary in nature. The email’s author insists that, “A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.” Some of the following are excerpts from that essay which I never published. It is all now more relevant than before.

The email presented the following list:

…nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From Bondage to spiritual faith

From spiritual faith to great courage
From courage to liberty
From liberty to abundance
From abundance to complacency
From complacency to apathy
From apathy to dependence
From dependence back into bondage

There is no such thing as an accident. If an “accident” is presented with sufficient background, it can always be shown, in the chain of events that somebody somewhere made a mistake that directly contributed to the “accident”. Somewhere a mistake was made, whether it is operator error in a vehicle crash or poor quality management when inspecting the construction of the brake system installed on that vehicle that failed. Someone somewhere is responsible for that accident.

Governments never do anything spontaneously. They will begin planning decades ahead of time. The implementation of a radical government (tyranny) is figuratively a chess game. Whether the implementation is intentional or not is of no consequence.

While I am a proponent of marshal law and I understand the necessity of it in certain situations I am also aware of the fact that after a government clamps down on its populace, historically that populace never quite recovers 100% of the freedoms which it had previous to that clamp down. If the circumstances in this nation were different I would not be concerned but they aren’t and I am.

Why have conservative political leaders done nothing to stop the communist ACLU and NLG from destroying the Christian values of our nation? The same Christian values that Marxists have declared stands predominantly in the way of the implementation of socialism. There are so many “whys” that I could fill this whole page with them… where are we as a nation?

Common sense says that it will of course eventually fall. Simple-minded efforts like the war in Iraq will only speed the process.

No. The US is not an empire. We don't conquer and subjugate people in other countries. We turn the worst of the worst in the the best countries: for example Germany, Japan, South Korea.
The countries we defeat become our allies, so we are not creating enemies by giving people their freedom.

Of course. All empires and countries and cultures fall eventually.
