We have had no phone for 6 days now and the phone company tells us to CALL their repair service to fix, how do you call when you have no phone, hummmm?
So If I am choking and need to call 911, what do i do, I have to call 611 first but cant call anyone period as I have no phone, now if my husband was the one choking me he would be in trouble if he caused us to have no phone but since its the phone company that casued this and will not repair it in a timely manner, why is it not illegal?
plus they have us jumping threw hoops to fix and we PAY for the darn phone line wiring coverage.
they came out yesterday but that was to fix a neighbors phone that went out the day before, and not ours (6 days, 6 DAYS! NO 7 DAYS!!)
Does this make sence?
It would if you lived under my roof, trust me!
Because everything and nothing makes sence when you dine on lead paint chips everyday.
thanks!

First of all with most companies (but not all) you can lodge complaints or email a tech, request service and such online. Most companies assume that at least one person in the house has a cell. But that is ridiculous as for many this means burning minutes.

7 days regardless is just wrong. First of all in every instance that you speak w. someone write down date, time, names, case number and what was said. Write down what you can remember up to this point. It will help later.

I am sure you have tried everything. Try again but sometimes calling and asking immediatly for a senior manager works, skipping the call center person. If this does not work call and say you wish to cancel....... immediatly you will get a response. Theres more but it is answers.

I kept a record. At first swipe they offered to not charge me for my week and a half of no service. But when I asked for a "senior resolution" person and explained I had records of who I spoke to they decided not to charge me for 2 MONTHS. Bottom line is at te very least don't be charged for at least the week.

It is not illegal to disable the phone in your house. Most people have bought their own phone and it does belong to them. All you have to do is unplug it.

Now have you checked all the wiring that you can get to to see that everything is as it should be. Are all the plugs plugged in as they should be.

If there are animals or small children in the house then you really need to check the wiring. Cats and dogs sometimes bite the wire and cause the phone not to work. You do have to look real close to see this. Children often pull wires not knowing just what they are for.

Most people have mobile phones now so you can use one to call the phone company. If you don't have a mobile then I bet someone near you would be glad to help you.

Remember the phone and wiring most of the time inside the home is not the responsibility of the phone company. It is their job to deliver it to your house or apartment and from there it is up to you.

Most of the time they will fix the line inside your home and say nothing but they can also charge you for it.

It is not illegal to disable your phone. I cannot answer for your phone company however. I suggest you get rid of them entirely and go with a prepaid cellular plan instead.

TRY THIS--TAKE A PHONE TO YOUR TELEPHONE JUNCTION BOX...OPEN THE BOX...WHEN YOU LOOK INSIDE YOU SHOULD SEE A JACK INTO WHICH YOU WILL PLUG YOUR PHONE....NOW PICK UP THE RECIEVER...IF YOU HEAR A DIAL TONE THE PROBLEM IS IN YOUR HOME...CALL AN ELECTRICIAN....IF YOU HEAR NO DIAL TONE THE PROBLEM IS IN THE PHONE COMPANIES LINES AND THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR
