I live in Michigan, but why do they show Sonic's commericals if there is no Sonic's in Michigan? It sucks because some of there breakfast food looks good! Damn you Sonics :(

Think of it this way:
Sonic has done so much advertising here - so when they finally do bring a Sonic to the area, people already know who/what they are. They will want it.
By the way, I read in a newspaper that one should be moving into the downriver territory within the year.

Television networks often cover many cities. They advertise to outlying towns and other small cities. You could be seeing these commercials because there is a Sonic in a surrounding town, who also happen to have the same television network even though they don't live in the same town as you. For instance, I live in this tiny little town called Colby, Kansas. There is virtually nothing here and I see commercials for just about any restaurant known to man. That is because the network here is out of Denver, Colorado. I hope this answers your question without boring you to death.........................
