This year's Pro Football Prospectus ranks the top 20+ seasons for running backs, with the top season of all-time being O.J. Simpson's 1975 performance.

Agree? Disagree? Who/what would you choose?

Yeah i agree with your answer, O.J. Simpson's as having the best statistic of all time in 1975, he got the most yards in a season of any running back in history of the NFL. I don't care about his of the field problem, but on the field he's one of the greatest running of all time. He's was ahead of his time, while playing running back for the Bills.
But i also like Barry Sander IN 1997 he rushed for 2053 yards 11 TD's and a 6.1 yards per carry wow that's amazing yards per carry. Barry is one of the all time great, he got the most amazing move, I've ever seen in a running back, just an amazing player.

You guys are forgeting 1989 Eric Dickerson of the L.A. Rams, he owns the single season record (2,100+ yds.), but I'm going more recent, L.T. last year, 34 total TDs including playoffs (30 rushing, 2 recieveing, 2 passing) and over 1,800 yards rushing, all of you are just going on rushing yards, factor in Touchdowns.

I am old enough to remember OJ's 1975 season. I will tell you going over 2000 yards was a big deal. It is arguable the best season by any running back.

id go with Terrell Davis, he was on fire when he went over 2000 yards, and he came close years before and after that, hes a legend and will always be remembered as one of the best RB to ever play the game.

I would go with T. Davis. He had those two years that the Broncos won back to back in 98-99 seasons. He was the best in the league at that time.

I make it a rule to never discuss double-murderers when talking sports. I suggest everyone adopt the same rule.

Brutally hacking two people to pieces should not be considered "an off-field problem"!

Considering what he did in such a short span, I would take Jim Brown
