Also why does he have a problem with Pakistan? If he wanted to be President do you think that he has bigger problems than Pakistan? Such as N.Korea or Iran, Seems to me he has a personal problem with Pakistan, which would be a muslim thing.

I think everyone that has seen the intelligence has tried to go after Pakistan. A short list of those who proposed essentially the same thing as Obama would go: Colin Powell, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, etc. The fact of the matter is that the dictatorial Pakistan government is in such a precarious position that it cannot properly enforce its laws in the rural border with Afghanistan. The result is that it is a haven for Taliban and al Qaeda related forces. The current policy would be like if we took the Nazis out of power in Germany but left them in Austria at the end of WWII. It just doesn't make any sense.

Second, the name Hussein is simply a proud name for many people throughout the world. There are both Christians, Muslims, Jewish, and even Druze who share the popular name Hussein. For one example, the Christian proselytizer in Kuwait who is a poster boy of much of the Christian Rights movement is named: Robert Hussein. The name preceded Islam and spans farther than that single religion.

You’re the one who has a problem with his name. If his name bothers you so much then vote for someone else with a nice all-American-sounding name like Clinton.

I know that some people are confused but let me remind you that Pakistan is where Osama bin Laden is supposed to be hiding. You do remember 9/11, don’t you? I know it’s confusing because our president decided to attack Iraq, a country totally unrelated to 9/11, but try to focus.

Why would he change his name, it was given to him at Birth. As far as foreign problems, whatever it is that he is upset about you can bet it isn't personal because what could he or the Pakistanians have in common? There are issues and it has nothing to do with Barack, it has to do with no one doing what Allah or Jesus or Buddah or whomever people are serving said to do - and that was to love one another - we are all judgemental and don't have an eternity to put anyone in....and we all have to meet the final judge.

Why do you get so offended by his name? It's just a name. The hassle of changing it legally just to make the minority happy isn't worth the effort.

It is only the incredibly ignorant who focus on minutae like this when this country (and this world) has problems that are so much bigger and farther-reaching than just someone's name.

How ridiculous.

Exactly what name should he change to. He uses his given name. Changing it would look deceitful and draw more criticism. His problem with Pakistan is that Pakistan is the mosr reliable location of Osama Bin Laden, who the U.S. is supposedly trying to find and capture or kill.

Do any of your names have Irish or Scottish or German ancestory to them? If so I think you should drop them if you are Christian *rolls eyes*

to quote Shakespear

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."

And he doesn't have a problem with Pakistan.. he has a problem with Al Queda.

You want him to be Barack Henry Obama? Will that make you feel better?

Are you really that shallow?

As a kid he was known as Barry Obama. Would that be okay? No, you'd be accusing him of hiding his heritage.

I know a middle eastern muslim named Brian Abdullah. His parents gave him an American name to fit in better with our society.

Based on your question, should he change his name to Mohammed because he is muslim?
