It's easy, don't worry, you'll pass as long as you don't become distracted by anything. The instructor will notice everything. The written part (on the computer) is common sense knowledge.

It is just basic driving skills. Some keys they look for are:
Do you wear your seat belt and make sure everyone else wears theirs (my tester did not put his on to see if I would ask him to before I started)
Do you drive carefully. Make sure you come to complete stops at stop signs and traffic lights.
When backing up drive slowly and be sure you control the car in a straight line.
The hardest thing is parallel parking, you will notice how bent the poles are they test this with. Practice carefully beforehand. Also you might want to practice using poles instead of cars, I practiced on cars and found that the poles were harder to judge my distance on.
Also a lesson from my own failure. Make sure you practice and test in the same car. I practiced in a Mustang but when I went to the test, my father took a full sized Cadillac. The steering was different and the length messed me up and I failed because I had trouble backing up under control and parallel parking. I retook the test a few days later in Mustang and passed.

You can expect driving in a straight line, backing up in a straight line, parallel parking, stopping on a bridge, following road signs, appropriate turning and signaling.
This is for NJ. I do not know if it is the same in Texas. It could be. You can look at the DMV site for your state and they should have a description of the test.

it is two part, a written, and there is a driving part as well. The written part is taken from your study book and the driving part is very simple driving, one thing they look for is that you are watching what is going on around you as well as what is going on in front of you. be sure to check your rear view mirror a lot, if you change lanes be sure to signal and again check and double check to insure that you are doing so safely. Also as soon as you get in put on your seatbelt and don't even start the car until he has put his belt on. Good luck.
