Why do we wear underwear

Human beings are not sterile beings in any sense of the word. There are drops of both urine and perhaps more serious dirt (I don't think I need to be specific, do I?) that underwear protects your more expensive and better clothes from.
Thus if you have a small accident, or if you are an elderly person with a tendency to a little incontinence - it is nice to just be able to change one's small clothes.
Have you ever had diarrhea? Before you know you have it, there is that first time when gas may be confused for more serious stuff. It sure is nice only to soil the underwear.

I wear them because it feels weird to have everything moving around down there. I think women wear underwear to keep fresh and clean.

To keep our bodily fluids from getting on our outer clothes. Which will save them from being washed as often, which saves wear and tear. It is cheaper to buy a $2 pair of underwear than to replace a $100 pair of jeans or dress pants every few months.

Becausae they make peole happy. I've seen all the commercials and the people look genuinely happy. In the commercials, this happiness is directly attributed to their underwear.

Its different for everyone. I guess people mostly wear it out of habit beacause their moms had them put it on. It could be most comfortable for them or if women are wearing a skirt or having their periods (so they need pads). But really you do not HAVE to put it on. Completely your choice. Though I no not think our culture will catch on.

Ladies that don't wear underwear get more yeast infections, for guys I think it is to hold the package.
