i'm trying to argue with someone that newyork city is better than chicago, but i can't find any good arguments except for sights and pizza. can somebody help me? thanks

weather, Coney Island, the Yankeys, Gray's Papaya, Long Island, Rainbow Room, Central Park, not to mention the cultural diversity, MoMa, Metropolitan Museum, Lincoln Theater .......... etc. etc.

As with any major city, the answer is of course dependent on who you ask. Both cities are large and rather congested. New York is, however, New York and there is no other. Chicago has it's nice parts and the lake is nice, but there is a crime element that seems in it's own way worse. You have to weigh the overall picture of the two and the advantage goes to NYC. Of course if I were to choose my large city I would choose a southern city or southwestern city for the weather, Consider San Antonio, or the Scottsdale area of the Phoenix metroplex.

I've lived in both places and I can say that Chicago is much better. It is less congested, the traffic is at least semi-bearable and the people seem less "in your face" than in New York City. Other than that, as far as diversity, culture and prestige, obviously NYC has that.

I don't think the two can be compared. Each has its own style and culture. NY has sites, and so does Chicago. The both have pizza. Why can't we embrace them both?

Culture, plain and simple. New York City is a better reprisentation of what this country is supposed to be ( a melting pot of different cultures), and there is no better example.

well defiantly that new york city is better because of the clothes also there alot of things down there that can help someone to pursue ther dreams.beside Chicago has so many bad gangs and people come in you house and steal while your in there believe me i know it happen to my uncle.
