...but my friend doesn't have an owner's manual. Anyone know off-hand how to do that? Is it a switch in the fuse box or maybe a combo of buttons inside?

If you recently got an oil change and the light's still on,
then there may be something wrong.

If you didn't get an oil change, recently, then you may need one, especially if it has been driven more than the recommended number of miles or months (which may be substantially different, depending on your driving habits and road conditions).

In the "old days", there was an external oil pressure sensor located near the oil filter. Sometimes, the mechanic would accidentally knock it loose, or even completely off without knowing it (rip-off artists did it, purposely!). If this is the case with your vehicle, pull the connector GENTLY out of the sensor socket, then push it GENTLY, but firmly, back in (there's no need to remove the filter). That may resolve the light problem (note that a damaged sensor is easy to replace, but would require removing the oil filter; your mechanic can do this for you the next time you get an oil change).

In most modern vehicles, disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes will wipe out the computer memory, and *should* clear the oil light (it may also clear your radio stations, so write down your faves!).

Regardless of how you "fix" it, if the light comes back on, then you should see a mechanic. Don't ignore it or bypass it!

Just did this on my wife's '03 TrailBlazer. As others have instructed, turn key to "on" position (don't start it) and press accelerator pedal ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR 3 times. Turn key off.

You're done.

Turn the key to the ACC position 3 times and pump the accelerator 3 times. Turn off the key and then start the truck. It should be reset now.
