I personally feel that women who are NOT married, get pregnant, and have no intention of staying with the guy should NOT EVEN be entitled to support payments...I find it disgusting that so many single women here are asking how to get support payments when they had no plans on being with the guy
- I feel if you get pregant you should be able to support the kid on your own - or DO NOT GET PREGNANT...

Its different if you are married and the guy then leaves you - but I am talking about those who get pregnant with no intent on a relationship...

who agrees - and if not.. why not??? (wondering about lawyers opinions too)

here is my stance on this women want equality, well I say give them real equality.

If a woman gets pregnant with todays laws she has the choice to have the baby, give it up for adoption, or abort the baby.

The Man on the hand has no say in the matter if she wants to abort it and he wants to keep it he has no legal right to the baby. If she wants to keep it and he doesnt he has no say in the decision he is however tied to the child for at least the next 18 years with support payments.

To make this equal the man should have the right to decide he wants no part of the childs life and sign away his parental right prior to the baby's birth. Freeing him from child support payments.

At that time the woman would have the choice to go it alone, give the baby up for adoption or abort.

Why should the woman have all of the say in the matter it affects both of them yet she has the only easy out in the matter with todays laws.

I know this would cause a problem with goverment having to flip the bill for raising the baby, but they want equality

FOR THOSE WHO SAY ITS 50/50 and both made a choice. Its true but the woman has options where the man does not so where is the equality. If a woman makes the poor choice of having unprotected sex she has 3 choices to go with the man has no choice so who is really getting screwed for making the same mistake

Now I dont believe this should apply when marriage is involved. The man has no choice then.

FUNNY HOW EVERYONE SKIPS OVER THE WOMAN"S GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD

WELL..... if the father does not want to pay child support for a spawn from his loin.... use a condom, or do not have sex. Plain and simple.

If the woman wants a child and does not want to marry, then she should use a sperm bank, and more than likely if the guy is just a donor, she won't hit him up for support if this was her intention.

If both were consenting to the relationship, both are responsible for protecting 50/50, so both are responsible for the raising and supporting of the child 50/50.

9 times of out 10 guys get hosed when it comes to anything like paying child support or alimony or any kind of divorce settlement. It is unfortunate, especially considering that the vast majority of mothers get custody of children whether they are fit to parent or not. While a father has to go to all kinds of lengths to try and see his children. The laws are way screwed up on this one and women have too much power when it comes to this sort of thing. I don't understand these guys. Why not pull out and then there will be no worry of pregnancy. Oh well, nothing we say will change it, because there are more women than men and we are dogs and they are perfect, so forget about it and move on.

They don't do it by themselves, why do men have unprotected sex with women they don't intend to have a life long relationship with?
If you are willing, as a man, to risk a pregnancy with a woman you wouldn't live with and love and who you feel is good enough to mother your child, why dip your naked pen in her inkwell? Aren't you afraid of diseases, or well support payments?
In any event if a woman decides to have the child, then yes, support for the child is needed. The innocent child must be cared for, not left like the last pumpkin in December to rot at the side of the road.
Carry your own condoms, use them, then you won't have to worry about a lifetime of payments for a child who may not recognize you if you passed in the street.

Child support goes beyond being a wallet for your children. There are many guys getting shafted through this legislation. However, regardless of intention on staying or not, the guy made a personal choice to and is responsible as much as the girl is.

the support law exists because regardless of how much of a money grubbing scum bag the self serving B is, the child has done nothing wrong and does not deserve to suffer. I'm quick to agree, though.. its become back door alimony.

and I say this even though I get none from my ex for my three kids.. I just know too many stories..

I agree with money hungry woman gouging men but ............ when 2 people have sex 50/50 then why would the man not be just as responsible for the care of the child? Come on it takes 2 and without the entire story of each person you can't say this.

Hey ,it does take two to make a baby! If you play, you should pay. Maybe the guy should make sure he prevents pregnancy, or quit having sex with women he knows he isn't going to stay in a relationship with.
The man has just as much responsibility as the woman. Don't sleep with people you don't want being the parent of your child. Simple as that.

You really need to think about what you are saying because it takes two people to make a baby and if you break up of course you are still a parent and have responsibility. There should be no conflicts or child support if both parents are responsible.

I do not agree because It is both the responsibility of the man and woman to take care of the baby. It is already common sense, both of them made the decision to have sexual intercourse so they knew already what might happened if they pushed through with it. Also , condoms were invented so use it if you don't want to have that problem spinning in your head.
