We had a bunch of them on our porch last year. I took a small shovel and scraped the nests off. It was winter time though and they were empty.

If they are wasp's nests buy some spray at your local hardware/department store. Wait about 24 hours and take a broom and knock them down. You need to wait 24 hours after you spray them so that any wasps that come to the nest after you spray it will die as well. wait until dark, or early morning to spray them.

Mud dobbers don't bite or sting you can just knock down the nest with no problem. If it is a wasp though get some spray to kill them, then knock down the nest the next day. If you can't tell the difference between the two, a mud dobbers nest is made up of dirt, a wasp nest is more papery and has a sort of honeycomb shape to it.

I wouldn,t do an scraping until your sure the nest is inactive. First I would buy the spray that shoots out 10 to 12 feet available at most hardware stores, that will kill the wasps. After an hour or so scrape off the mud.

get a can of wasp spray. It allows you to spary the nest from several feet away. Once sprayed, leave the area for about an hour or so. Then re spray. wait and hour and romove the nests with a long stick just in case.

Wait until dark when they are less active. then spray the nests with Raid , wasp and hornet spray. Wait a day or so till you are pretty sure there is no activity. Again wait till after dark. knock the nests down and put them in a bucket of bleach. Good Luck and be careful.

The stuff you really need to use is called "Home Defense".
Spray it on the nest, they will die right away and also this stuff will keep them away, it repels them too. It costs around $15.00 a gallon, I use this stuff inside and outside. I promise this stuff really works.
