Tell him you're flattered but no thanks and move on.
No reason to cut him out of your life,
really?

NO. Do not just stop talking to him.
Talk WITH him to figure out where to go from here.
Tell him very plainly that since you're not gay, you're not interested in him that way, but you still want to be friends. Be prepared to back away from the friendship for a little while if that's what he needs.
But do NOT just turn your back on him. Be a true friend and talk with him honestly about the situation. Be open to what he has to say, and be honest in everything you say - but speak the truth in love. Think before you speak, and make sure you take his feelings into consideration. In this time and place, gay people don't need rejection, they need understanding and friendship. :)
Best of luck, man.

I was 14 when my best friend whom I grew up with revealed to me that he was gay and had a crush on me. I tols him that I value his friendship, but that I was heterosexual. I made it clear that I did not want to lose his friendship, not spend less time with him, but that he would need to keep it at a friendship level and not be flirtatous with me. I had no issues with his sexual preferrence, just needed to let him know that I did not feel that way about him. We are still friends to this day, and he has a new best friend, his lover and domestic partner of 8 years!

You should be flattered and tell him that though he is a great person, you are not gay and not interested in having any deeper relationship then the friendship you already have.
It's ok to be found attractive, by anyone. It was brave of your friend to admit his feelings. Just be clear and kind. He didn't get you drunk and rape you, he merely expressed his feelings. I think your lucky to have a friend who trusts you that much.
Also, know that most of us are fairly picky, so you must be very special.
:-)

If he knows you are straight, then apparently he doesnt have enough respect for you to stay on his side of the line. At this point, he has crossed it.
How would you be able to trust him from here on out?
I would slowly seperate myself from him, or keep him as an aquaintance...but my trust with him would be broken.
If he did not know you were straight, then there is no foul.
Explain to him that you are straight and press on. A friend will understand and not cross the line again.

No, he's your friend. You should tell him you're straight and not interested, but want to be friends, and no more than friends. You've obviously been getting along well with him, share interests, etc. Why would you just stop being his friend? That'd be like if a girl said they like me... I'd be flattered, but I would turn it down. I would still be her friend.

Just tell him you like him. As a friend and nothing more.
And it never will be more.
Tell him to forget about it and not make an issue out it.
It's not worth losing your friendship over unless it becomes a major issue.

Sweety, you would be an idiot if you stop talking to him, that is just low, all you do is sit him down and explain clearly that it would never happen,
1. that would make him respect you more
2 vice versa( if he understands and eccepts
3. you would be better friends afterward if not godd friends now.
also keep in mind how vulnarable he would be when you talk to him, and be open minded, talk........
goodluck

i had a male friend who was gay. one day he came to me and said he was in love with me, and said i "turned him straight", and that he wanted to be my boyfriend. i told him there was no way it could be possible because of his past, and it totally ruined the friendship. let him down easy.

No...All you say is that your flattered but you know I'm not gay...There's no point in ruining your friendship over something silly like that.
