I was born and raised in NJ (close enough to NY) for 25 years....moved to Florida....left after 18 months....
Too Hot...Too Many BIG Bugs...WAY Too Humid!
If you like the four seasons.....stay in NY!

It depends on what kind of a person you are, I've been to New York City a couple of times...I didn't care much for it people are way too rude for their own good, and then want to know why people aren't friendlier to them...It's a much slower pace down here and people are not near as uptight so like I said before it depends on what your looking for.
There's a big difference in the weather also, so it also depends on what kind of climate you like.

Florida has so much to offer, beautiful weather, sports of every kind, culture, gambling, great shopping, plenty of jobs, I have loved living here for 49 years

If you don't mind living in a place where you are pretty much guaranteed hurricanes every year, then by all means, move to Florida. (no offense to Floridians.... I just wouldn't live there myself)
