Kind of a weird sex question...

I have been with my boyfriend for quite a while now, and, all in all, things are going well.

Here's the situation - we are both monogamous, and have both been tested before we got into the relationship, and I am on the Pill, which I take relgiously. He still only wants to have sex with a condom. What gives? I mean, does he think I am being unreliable with my BC? That doesn't make sense, as he sees me take it all the time - at the same time, every day. I never miss a day. Maybe he thinks I might cheat? No way! I don't understand. We have been really responsible thus far, I just think that sex feels better 'ungloved', and since we are only sleeping with each other, have proof that we are both clean, and I am on BC, what's his hangup?

He's seen my paperwork, and I've seen his.

I am not sure if it is a 'cleanliness' issue, because we do oral without any sort of protection.

Nice headline, by the way... :)

I agree with you- sex does feel better without a condom. But here's the thing- birth control isn't 100% effective. I got pregnant while on the pill- and I'm a pre-med student! I took it everyday religiously at the same time- we can't explain it, but it happened.

Also, did you know that you are more apt to contract a yeast infection or UTI or bladder infection from having unprotected sex? Even if you both bathe/shower daily- it happens.

Perhaps, he just needs time to get over his fear (of being a father...) Good for him- he's not ready. He knows he's not ready. I'd support him in it.

And there's always toys....

:)

Good luck!

Maybe he enjoys it more wearing a condom, or maybe he is just very overprotective about getting you pregnant and doesnt want to land in that 1%.
Whatever the reason, the only way you are going to get the answer to this question is if you ask him. Dont do it abbruptly, act like you are curious, then suggest without and see how he reacts.
Suggest that you take in turns (with and without) because there is both of you in this relationship and you both deserve to enjoy yourself.

Good Luck!

I took my BC pill everyday same time, wasn't sick, no problem. I got pregnant. He was a wonderful surprise but a little closer to our other kids than we had panned. So maybe he's heard of someone else like this and wants to be extra careful.

Not to be a cynic, but a realist. It may be that he is not being monogamous. Knowing that he is having sex outside of your relationship may cause a fear that he may pass something along to you, and to prevent that, he is insistent upon wearing a condom.

It is good to use condoms as BC pills are also not reliable 100%. Your bf is quite thoughtful, congrats!

It is a pregnancy issue.
He does not want to be a daddy.
