There are 4 kids in my family:

1st born - Male 52
2nd born - Female 51
3rd born - Female 47
4th born - Male 43

I am the 3rd born female. My oldest brother was sent to live with grandparents at the age of 14, I was 8 or 9 when he left.

I think I am a middle child. What would you say my personality would be?

Is there any truth to the birth order theory?

There are always exceptions to the rule.. and there are even more exceptions in social situations like this... but in general it would be somewhat accurate to say that you were probably a bit of a bully from time to time.. but in the end you always tried to be the uniter in the family and that you were less spoiled than the other two.

What's great is I could probably say that to just about anyone and they would agree with this statement.. no matter what order they came in :P

From books I have read, there "supposedly" is no such thing as middle child syndrome. My middle child, however; is quite demanding. She requires the most attention.

She is quite responsible, does everything she can to stand out, is outgoing, friendly, and bossy. She is only 6. Don't know how she will be as an adult. Gender may also play a role as well as birth order.

There are similarities in birth order, but any documentation is shady at best. People doing research on birth order are out to prove something, not to dissaprove it. It's possible they may collect data and make a conclusion that leads to their hypothesis. I haven't seen a completely subjective experiment on birth order. I feel fairly certain the results would be inconclusive at best.

No universal truth. You are as good as you can become. As a matter of fact, middle children are more accommodating, sharing, caring and easier to adjust and that helps them to live a more satisfying and happier lives.
