The U.S. has the most corrupt two-party political system in the world.
The U.S. has a madman serving as President, who runs rip shod over our Constitution, and is secretly trying to form a North American Union that will eventually lead to a one-world government.
The U.S. has a Congress made up mostly of pedophiles, homosexuals, cross dressers, psychopathic liars, thugs, wife beaters, drug addicts, tax cheats, prescription pill poppers, alcoholics, adulterers and other assorted criminal or immoral types.
The U.S. has a political body that maintains a stranglehold over its citizenry while pandering to rich corporations, wealthy elitists, powerful industrialists and war mongers who are willing to kill thousands of others just so they can become wealthier or more powerful.
The U.S. has the poorest health care system in the civilized world.
The U.S. has a degenerate society where "freedom of speech" is interpreted as being able to use whatever vulgar and offensive language you choose without regard for anybody else.
The U.S. has created a culture wherein our society looks up to 'heroes' such as sports celebrities who engage in gambling and other illegal practices; movie stars who squander their wealth on personal indulgence, and people who disregard the sanctity of marriage, family, honor, land, environment, health, and compassion. -RKO- 08/28/07

USA will be top dog for a long time to come bro. Even if we are superceded economically - it would take decades to match the US's military might. And even if our military might was matched - it would take a hundred years to match our military know how and develop a rabidly independant and creative middle class (the source of America's power). So even though China may pass us by with sheer numbers - they are a top down inflexible society that lacks the creative capacity to really threaten the US in a direct fashion bud.

Better living conditions than many countries. More space and natural resources than most. More chance to improve one's life than most countries. Safer society outside of cities. Religious freedom. Freedom of speech. A representative government that allows the people to vote and change representatives when not satisfied.

We must have something because people from all over the world want to come here to live.

I wish other countries had liberal immigration laws so more of the whiners here could leave.

Q. -- "What does the United States have that other countries don't?"

A. -- Vis-a-vis most other **developed** nations? We have more mindless censorship on radio and TV, and to some extent in print. We haven't DIDDLY in the way of a passenger rail system (and up until 1965, we had one of the world's best). And -- most unfortunately, we have an infestation of repressive and hateful RRR Cultists ("Religious" Radical Right -- an outgrowth of Puritanism).

RRR : Society :: 5% arsenic solution : glass of drinking water

To "Condor," "mmdjaajl," "Billy J," and "-RKO-" -- If I were the questioner, I'd be considering you as the top contenders for "Best Answer!"

To "Woman's Stride" -- Try telling this nation's GAYS that *they* have Civil Rights. They can't even marry their same-sex partners in most states... and same-sex marriage is **100% harmless**!
