Why is it that when you support your country, support your president, and support the mission of our troops in in Iraq, there's always some idiot demanding that you stop hiding behind your keyboard and join the military to go fight on the front lines? But complaining, bytching, and moaning doesn't require you to do a friggin thing! If you use this logic, does that mean that if you support gay marriage you should run out and marry somebody of the same sex?

Don't try logic with these guys. It won't work.

What I find interesting about that crowd is that as much as they seem to hate the U.S., hate our military and see America as the great evil, why are they hiding behind their keyboard? Why aren't they in Iraq fighting with the fascist insurgents that they seem to so aggressively and vehemently support. I mean, it's the same logic.

We know the answer though. There's no principle, no cause, on Earth that these folks would be willing to risk their hide for.

BRAK: Yeah, you do, so quit whining about how oppressed you are. We also have the right to call you on your silliness. Say what you want, do what you want, but don't expect us to remain quiet about it. You see, Brak, we have the same rights as you do. And those rights give us the right to point out the fact that your stance IS un-American. Don't like the war? Don't like the way things are being handled? Fine. Suggest a better way and defend that. Otherwise all you're doing is 'female dogging'.

I ask you why is it when you speak out and question the government about their actions you get told you are not a true patriot and should leave the country. It is our right as an American citizen to question what our officials are doing in office and to protest a war we don't believe in. We have the right to peaceful assembly, the right to free speech and the right to not support an administration as corrupt as the one we have in office. If you don't like everybody being able to exercise these rights given to all under the constitution then you are the non-patriot, the anti American and you should leave the country and find a place that allows only those that agree with you the freedom of speech and so on. If me questioning the elected officials and not supporting an illegal war pisses you, that is your problem. Deal with it.

Yeah, that logic is flawed. I person X tells you to join the military to support the cause, what right do they have to tell you HOW to support the cause when they don't. If they really believed their advice was good, they would have already joined, otherwise they are a trolling hypocrite.

When confronted with an issue, I can decide whether I am for or against it, and leave it at that. I don't need anyone telling me HOW to be for or against anything, people need to mind their own business.

There is a big difference between a war and Gay rights. It is obvious you have no understanding that being supportive of different issues can be entirely something different. Most people can not just be gay or straight. In most cases it's not a choice who someone is attracted to. Straight people can actively support gays by helping them in other ways. Like fighting for gay rights.
So if we can fight for gay rights and fight to stop the war then we at least are fighting for what we believe in.
You obviously need to do a little more research on the war and gays so you can make a better educated decision on what is real.

No, it is just a hot topic. The idiot just wants to know how deep your support of this war goes. And from reading some of your posts, you are not real nice about it. If you are going to call " libs " cowards, then you have to expect some grief in return. From being on here awhile, I would say the radicals from your side are a lot nastier than the other. They aren't cowards, they want the troops home. Period. And that doesn't make all who do a supporter of terrorism or want us to lose the war. Be sensible with your questions and you might get some sensible answers back.

Just saying that you support your country, your president, and the mission in Iraq doesn't cost you a friggin' thing either. I think their point is that talk is cheap and painting someone as a great patriot or a coward based on their words is pointless.

The last line was great. "does that mean that if you support gay marriage you should run out and marry somebody of the same sex?"

Supporting gay marriage isn't the same as supporting a corrupt lying whore like Dubya. In addition, supporting an illegal war based on false premises and then creating more American animosity is close to being a traitor.
All the cons that support this war need to be reminded of the failing leader and the lies sold to Americans in the name of revenge.

I don't want anyone getting killed for Bush's oil buddies. Especially me, but not even you. I didn't know there was a mission, they must keep that a secret. Also, I'm for gay marriage, but I don't swing that way, so I'm just gonna keep giving it to the wife. By your same logic, someone who supports the NRA and no gun bans should allow themselves to be shot. I'm just saying.
BTW, I was able to write this entire comment without using any political or intelligence slurs. You can have a discussion without insulting one another.
Jerk. ;-)

The response you are getting is simply the knee jerk reactions of those with opposing views. Reacting to it is yet the same thing. There is nothing to be gained either way but a feeling of, "I told him/her, yay for me."
