I bought a door from menards(home improvement store) that was "pre-primed" and was wondering if I need to prime it again before I paint it? Its a mastercraft door.

With all due respect, it's not strictly needed. I am opposed to the extra step anyway, when it's redundant. Certainly you might have smudges, scrapes, abrasions during an install, but they can be primed over with a tablespoon of any primer, before any finish coat.

Without knowing at all, if this is an interior or exterior door, you might still want to 2 coat it with the "finish color" no matter.

For doors I use a "WEENIE" roller, as well as a brush for cuts, and the roller covers I often use are disposable foam. They give me a smoother end surface finish. In fact I just installed a door, pre-primed last week, and it looks like the finish was sprayed on.

No, definitely not. What you do need to do is make sure the factory prime coat has complete coverage and that the door is clean. If you have dirt build up from handling the door then you can just clean it before putting on the 2 finish coats for a proper finish. Tip: Most people don't paint the top of the door, this needs to be painted unless it has a "redwood" strip for the top - I think only Therma-Tru does that. The top needs to be sealed from moisture because most of the doors have wood, even the fiberglass and steel ones, at the top and sides which can expand and contract from the moisture in the air. I recently had issues with the paint flaking and peeling off a door that was only a couple of years old and the door manufacturer told me that the prime that came on the door was not meant as the final prime - it is only intended to keep moisture out during shipping and it should be re-primed.
