I know a guy who says he will not marry the mother of his child, but he loves her. Is he a jerk? He says he does not trust her.

Well, I see nothing wrong with what he said. Why should a guy marry a girl he doesn't trust??? If he marries her it will not change the way he feels. It will just be worse. I think it's good that he is being honest about how he feels. Marriage is about trust and loyalty. He has to trust her first and then he'll feel comfortable about marrying her. I don't think he was being a jerk at all. Nobody should marry a woman just because she has your child. Two people should be married because of the right reasons. And, if one isn't comfortable about getting married and is forced into it, then the marriage is headed for a divorce sooner or later. That or it's going to be a very rocky marriage.

Oh yeah, that sounds like a GREAT basis for a relationship, and a GREAT example of putting the child (who didn't ask to be born) first and foremost in their lives.
NOT!
Another example of people just going around sticking their genitals in each other, producing a whole new human being, and then not giving a crap about the baby needing a stable home with two mature adults who can give it what it needs in life to have a good start and become a useful, compassionate, productive human being.

Evidentally he is not ready for that commitment. He must have another woman.
For the other question, he don't trust her because he probably be doing wrong too. If there isn't any trust in the relationship, it's not going to work out.

Perhaps she had the baby, hoping it would trap him into marrying her. I would say that is grounds for not trusting her.

He must be crazy, and she must have been crazy to allow herself to get pregnant by someone who doesnt trust her and doesnt want to marry her, but is happy to impregnate her!
