The sound of a certain ring that belonged to my great-great grandmother & the stone rattles in it's setting. My mom wore it everyday, when I was a kid, & the sound has always given me a sense of security. It was passed down to me last Christmas & I, too, wear it everyday. And, yes, it still gives me that same sense of security.

The smell of Gas. My father worked on helicopters for the Army when I was little, so he always smelled like gasoline.

low tide... I grew up across the street from a school that sits on the LI Sound... when the tide is low it stinks REALLY bad... but you always knew it was time for the parents to come home... tide goes out around 6 or so in the summer time
