I'm being harrassed via text. Once a week someone is texting saying that I am messing w/her man and if I don't stop, she is going to f ukc me up at home or work. They know my name, so it's not a wrong number. Of course I am taking this threat serious. I confronted the man I am seeing and he swears he's not with anyone else and is concerned for me too. We think it's my ex-husband (I wouldn't put it past him) but I have no proof. The text actually has a number. I tried texting back but nothing. I tried calling and the phone just rings, no voicemail. I did a reverse lookup, I even paid $30.00 but there is no information on this number how is this possible?? they only told me that it's a cell phone from Verizon Wireless and the town the call is coming from. I 'm so frustrated I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any other suggestions on how I can find out who's threatening me? thanks.

I hope you haven't deleted any of these messages!!!! You need to take the phone to the police and let them deal with this. You have proof that someone is harassing you. So let the police do their job and find out who it is!!!!
Better to be safe then sorry. You sound scared and if you don't find out who it is you will always be looking over your shoulder. Not a good way to live.

What you should do is file a report with the police. Show them the test messages that you have been getting and save all future ones that you may get. If the phone is not a pre-paid phone, the police can get a court order for Verizon to give them the account holders information. If the cell phone is pre-paid, there may be no way of them finding out who is doing this. When you call the number who is texting you, try blocking your number first. You just have to dial *67 and then the number. Maybe if the number comes up unknown, the called will pick it up and you can see if you recognize the voice on the other end of the line.

Call Verizon's customer service and explain what is happening. This is nothing to mess around with because the person texting you could be crazy. They will be able to tell you if you should contact the police and fill out a report or if they are able to share the person's name sending the text with you or the police. Do it today.

Call the number from a pay phone. If it's your ex-husband, he probably sees your number and doesn't answer the phone.
All cell phones have voice mail, so how is that possible that it just rings and rings? I don't think verizon customers can opt out of voicemail.
Maybe whoever it is will answer the pay phone call because they won't recognize it is you. Then you'll know if you recognize the voice.

Remember the days when there was no text messaging...Of course not. If you live your life in fear then you have no life. Harassment by text/phone by and unknown person usually ends up being someone you know. Take it to the police if your life is being threatened, know that you may not like what you find. Better to be safe than sorry!

Call Verizon wireless and ask for their assistance. I had something similar, but different happen to me. I had a stalker of sorts. I was able to find out who it was and deal with it this way. This was several years ago....I would also call the police and report it because you never know....people get f***ed up all of the time in ways that are life altering. Take it seriously and fight back.

Change your number and then make a police report. It is obvious this person is only finding it amusing to threaten you.
