every 2 to 5 days i have to fill my rad, there is no leaks, no white smoke out the exaust, no coolant in the oil. it seems like its gone into thin air. I know my cars biggest problem is the chrysler emblem, that says it all, but seriously i'm stumped.

Tony, If you see no external leaks around the radiator plastic expansion tanks, radiator core, coolant recovery tank or any hoses or connections it's time to have your cooling system pressure checked.

A mechanic uses what looks like a small bicycle tire pump with a radiator cap in the end of a short hose. He'll install the cap on your radiator and pump your cooling system with a minimum of 15 psi. There is a pressure gage on this piece of testing equipment. Your cooling system hopefully will hold 15 lbs. of pressure over night. If for some reason the pressure bleeds off quickly two major things are suspect. Either there's a head gasket problem or a crack in one of the cylinder heads. In either case the offending head needs to be removed and checked for cracks. Usually there easily visible directly inside the combustion chamber around or between the valves.

The head gasket will show discoloration if there's a leak between cylinders. If the motor's down this far it's wise to have the head checked for flatness at an engine machine shop. It should be re-surfaced if it's not perfectly flat.

Check to see if your radiator is plugged. Some shops will check this for you for a nominal fee.

Also check the Cooling fan. While the car is at temperature open the hood and check to see if your electric cooling fan is coming on. If it is not turning on and the temperature keeps rising then that is your problem.

Check to see if there is any leakage around the radiator cap. If there is replace the cap. Less than $20 at any autoparts store.

As for the head gasket check to see if there is any white smoke coming out of your tailpipe at startup and while the car is running. Also check the compression in the cylinders. Most autoparts stores lend out compression testers if you give them a refundable deposit.

check the carpet inside the car , just under the heater , if its damp or wet , this might be the problem , leaking from the heater radiator , another thing is, some times when the car cools down the hoses shrink a little and "drip " , but when they heat up again they seal , get a lend of a pressure tester , pressure it up to the red line , this'll find it ;)

Not saying this is your problem, cause i've only seen it a few times with chryslers. Check your transmission fluid. If it looks a milky pink color and is overfilled, then you have a internal leak in your radiator and it is all going into your transmission.

This will cause you to have major problems with your transmission and in all likely hood have to replace it.

Once again, not saying this is your problem, but just wanted to throw it out there since I haven't seen it mentioned by anyone else.

Hope this helps!

Not really. I have known many a Chrysler owners with no problems.
Just because you do not see white smoke does not mean that it is not slipping into the cylinders and burning. Have you cooling system pressure tested to be sure.

Make sure you don't have a crack in your radiator anywhere. If you can't find a crack, see if your mechanic can. I'm thinking that while you are driving, the radiator spits coolant from wherever it is cracked, making it seem like the coolant goes into thin air.

Take it to a repair shop to have a pressure check on the system. I am thinking maybe pin holes some where like hoses, radiator, maybe a bad thermostat and etc.

I had a similar experience with my 92 Lesabre... it has been doing this for years...well till this year when the water pump bearing went out and I had to change it....problem solved... it hasn't used water in 6 months...might be a place to start looking....there is a "weep" hole in the pump housing and you could be losing it thru there... hope this helps...

For starters, you should have a coolant pressure check done. This will verify you having a leak or not, whether you can visually see it or not.
