It seems, from quotes on a couple of web pages, that the current record for the walk of 886 1/3 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats - or vice versa - is 12 days 3 hours 45 minutes, set in 1986 by Malcolm Barnish. He must have walked 73 miles on several of the days, and maybe 75 miles on a good day.
Well-trained female athletes regularly cover 100 miles in less than 24 hours in scheduled competitions, for example at Schiedam in 1998. Many countries have a "centurion" club for people - mostly men - who have walked 100 miles in 24 hours.

I don't know.
However, not too long ago my dad's doctor ordered him to get some exercise, and told him he should start walking five miles a day. My dad started walking five miles each and every day.
He walked five miles a day for six months.
The last we heard, he was in Seattle!!!
