American society has always been terrified, in a way, of sex. It's ingrained in our minds that virginity=moral superiority.
Others see it as an example of their superior self control.
In reality it's just self-deprecating and doesn't actually mean a thing. I'm not so sure I would call them losers, considering they are turning down sex, not just being unable to get it. But whatever.

Some people CHOOSE to be virgins. Therefore not losers, if on the other hand they want to get laid, but can't that makes them a loser, but if they're a teenager, they're not a loser, the right time will come.

Because they feel they have a sense of pride for themselves. they choose to be a virgin and if they stick to it until they are ready then they do have something to be proud of. just like if you want to quite smoking cigarettes, you quit you are proud of yourself!!!

they also may just be afraid of have sexual relations.

Your question sounds like something a high school kid would say to his girlfriend just to have sex. Being a virgin doesn't make you a loser. Seeing as everyone comes into the world a virgin. It just makes them very picky! You're still a virgin aren't you?

They think they are protecting a kind of treasure for a special day,which in fact its' just a Hymen and not worth a penny and is replaceable.
