Why does it seem like there are more closeted gay Republicans than democrats?

It seems like there's more pedophiles, child molestors, closeted gay senators/governors. Aren't republicans supposed to be "god-fearing" Christians? I mean I am not a republican, I am not a democrat either (I think they are both the devil) but geez, how can you be a "christian" and vote against gay rights and then BE gay??

Probably because Republicans are more hypocritical and judgmental. They are torn between their strict religious upbringings and their secret deviant behaviors. Democrats are more open about their predilections, and generally had more relaxed upbringings.
It was the Republicans who spent millions of taxpayers' dollars 'investigating' Bill Clinton's extra-marital affair with another consenting adult. No doubt many of the Republicans 'serving' on that investigation, who were no doubt titillated by the testimony, almost certainly returned to their private Capital Hill offices and committed the very same offenses with their secretaries or interns, praying to God that they wouldn't get caught!
My guess is that there are a lot more "closet" Republicans than we know about because they don't come clean until they get caught.
While there are probably more Democratic womanizers, alcoholics, drug addicts, and adulterers.....I suspect there are more Republican homosexuals, cross dressers, wife beaters, prescription-pill poppers and pedophiles.

The media covers for the Democrats and not the Republicans is why it seems that way.

How can you vote against gay rights and BE gay? Well, maybe you don't think that just because you're gay, you should have special rights. What rights should gays get that straight folks shouldn't? I'm drawing a blank.

Any gay man who can't accept who he is may overreact and go on a crusade against people like himself, to prove to others that he isn't gay. These kind of people will first be drawn to conservative organizations like the Republican party and fundamentalist churches, but then eventually their true tendancies will come out one way or another, just like Brokeback Mountain.

As for the question, it probably does have to do with a strict upbringing and their need to conform. Graig was very vocal about his opposition to gay marriage.

Psychologists have long pointed out that people with severe sexual deviations (the kind that get you arrested) come from deeply religious families. So it logically follows that Republicans would tend to have more closeted problems since they tend to come from more religious backgrounds....

Because if you have sexually deviant tendencies and are a democrat, you don't try to hide them. Democrats love their sexual deviants and stand behind them.

Republicans immediately shun anyone they know to be deviants, so the deviants hide it.
