It is indeed shameful. If I was teh hotel owner or the boat owner I would let them use it for free. However, the responsibility lies with the state. I mean sure I would do this for free, as I said, but the truth is that the state should tell the hotel and boat owners "take them in and come to the state for the bill", because after all, should the sailors work for free, should the private citizens who happen to have the infrastructure carry the burden of the cost? The state - or the local authorities- should hire hotels and boats and so on.

Hi.
About banks: In general, banks ask for comission when u deposit money in any account that doesnt belong to u. That's the rule in general. If u are aware of this then its no suprise. There are banks that offered 5 milions, postponed payments of loans.
About hotel owners : The were misinformed at the beggining, it doesnt happen anymore. Of course they care about money, about themselves. Greeks are like this in general.
These people -that i feel sympathy for all of them- are very lucky cause this happened just before the elections and they are going to get enough money from the government. If there were no election things will be diferrent. Just think about it.

cruelty and vanity are characteristics of the world
we cant change that-
yes government is to blame, first of all but why dont you look the bright side?
how many people send stuff and money?and how many people of Church?
we wont let our compatriots to suffer!
we ll all help!
as we do always, when our help is needed ! when our country is in pain!
finally as for banks, plz dont forget they mostly belong to private sector so government has not power to interfere-
and many of them are huge international companies..

I swear, i havent been informed about it, but i ll know...But let s leave the private sector which had the obbligation to do it, and let s take the state...
Where is the care for these people?where is the justice for those who have lost their houses of the earthquackes?Where?
Where is the consciousness when everyone votes for his private benefit?
I am really disappointed sometimes...

It is not only the Greek reality, it is the human reality..
There were always "human vultures" that wait for the people to be weak and unfortunately they will always be. Sad but true..
The only think I wonder is how they comfortably sleep at night.

Very well said Ipek. These vultures have no nationality. I am trying to understand your anger and sorrow dear Greek friends but please do not blame your whole people.
