Depends on where the land is located. In the US, some counties and townships have this information online. It comes up as a map, and when you click on a particular parcel, it displays the owner and maybe information about the property.
Try doing a search for the county or city or township, and explore the site to see if they have information about property owners, tax assessments, etc.
