Friendship is a very strong word! As Sokratis the Greek said: "Όλοι πιστεύουν πως οι φίλοι είναι το μεγαλύτερο αγαθό από όλα κανείς όμως δεν φροντιζει να το αποκτήσει" Which means "Everybody believes that the best of all is having friends but noone takes care of having them". You should take better care of your true friends. You must know who you can totally trust and who you can't. This way you know who are your friends and whith who you are just having company. This simple little thing will help you a lot. True friendship is always stong no matter how far the friends can be or how tough their times are treating them. Take care!

Friendships are like any other relationship, albeit: spouses, boyfriend/girlfriend,any close personal connection between two people. There will always be good times, and difficult situations. The rough patches, and how we decide to handle them are what determines our strengths. True friends will stand by you, support you, and be there when you need them the most. It is easy to be friends with someone who is always easy to be with, is great fun, and agrees with everything you say or do. I feel the true test is when you reach out to a friend whatever the issue, and they are willing to guide you, and stay true to the end. Friendship is a two way street however, and both parties need to be willing to give as well as receive.

Everyone wants a friendship to be strong at all times, I do. But in relationships there are bound to be ups and downs. what makes a strong relationship is the ability to resolve those little misunderstandings when they come, and continue being friends(the relationship) with your friend.

No friends can disagree so that it causes a rift in the friendship. But good friends will find a way to agree to disagree. You will know many people in your life and call them friend, but you will be lucky to have more than a handful of good friends in a lifetime.

In a marriage yes, in friendships, no. It is nice if you can grow together and remain friends, but often people grow and change. If you are taking a different path in life than a friend you cannot remain friends if they are going to bring out or create negative qualities in you or expose you to bad people, places and things.

I think people go through many stages in life and sometimes you and your friend are not in the same stage and you may drift away for awhile but later you make come back together.
