And they can do . . . . . . what? Other than raise a new generation who will undoubtedly be taught to expect the same.

We're probably paying for it already....especially here in the Mississippi Delta. Don't know the percentage of people dependent on govt for their mere existence here but suspect it's higher than 30%. There aren't many job opportunities here and there is a cycle of dependency that will not stop until the govt takes away or changes some of it's social programs.
When you have people using food stamps(EBT cards) to buy chips, Kool-Aid, ice cream and bologna as a meal then use the same card to purchase shrimp to use as fish bait, you have a problem.

We already pay for a portion of that health care through Medicare since Mississippi is one of the poorest states in the nation.

I'm against universal health care, but the facts are that people who are obese, or smokers, or drug addicts are actually cheaper to treat in the long run because they usually die a lot younger.

we already have medicare and medicaid and a million and one insurance companies!

Perhaps the answer is for every american to have their food and drink intake controled by the feds so we consume the perfect diet and save on health care.
