I absolutely love Star Wars- sort of obsessed! But I'm beginning to think I'm a bit of a weirdo! All my female friends just shake their heads and sigh, my male friends are a bit weirded out by it!
I must know, am I alone? Does anyone else share my pain!!!???!!!

I'm a girl and I've been a Star Wars "geek" since 5th grade (so about 11 years now). If it makes you happy, it doesn't matter what other people think. No one can have all the same exact interests as their friends, or things would be really boring. You're all individuals, and I bet your friends like some things that you don't particularly like. Be proud of it! There's no such thing as a movie or book or franchise that only people of a certain gender are allowed to like.

My son is like that. H'e six years old and can quote lines from any of the movies.

While I bet its worse being a girl and being a Star Wars geek, the guys don't have it easy either.

Look at the videos coming from comic conventions... Look how many women are dressed up as "Princess Leia-in-slave-girl-bikini"... There are obviously full-grown women just as obsessed as you are.

And Trekkers are even geekier.

you're not alone my dear. i'm a star wars fan too. i even made my bf watch the 6 episodes and he is now into star wars too. i even had an R2-D2 swimsuit.

most of my friends aren't really into star wars but i don't feel the pain like you do. you see, we accept each other for who we are and we respect each others preferences. you can still be friends even if you don't like exactly the same things.

If you own the Princess Leia Bikini then no your not wierd as long as you send a pic of you in it. Kidding of course, Nothing wrong with a female liking a si-fi flick, im a "rugged" type guy and one of my favorite movies is "when harry met sally" and it doesnt make me wierd, well maybe a little

you're not alone..... but, i fail to understand why you should feel that this is pain.....

no one has all their interests mirrored by any one set of friends. so, your current group of friends don't share this interest, expand your group of friends by actively looking to find people who share this interest with you.

i'm sure that there are groups which share this interest, and i know that there are conventions. start by attending the conventions and look online for some groups. you never know ....

You are not alone. I love the movies, mostly the original trilogy, but I'm not as into it as I used to be.
