He can never have a replacement. He is a true legend.

However we do need another striker. I say Nicolas Anelka or Dimitar Berbatov.

Obviously he cannot be "replaced" truely. Rather, we need to find someone to fill the gap left by him. We are lacking in back up, especially if another injury occurs. Tevez is leaving for Melbourne for a game, and if he get injured there is only Saha. We can play the "youngsters", but they are a risk.

If we had to buy then i would forget about Berbatov, like i have said all along. He is not obviously coming here. I would say if we have to buy a player before the deadline then i would say Nicolas Anelka, a proven premiership goalscorer despite the previous allegiences and he seems unhappy at the moment.

it would be hard to replace him, he was a great striker and a super sub. Not many strikers can be happy to sit on the bench a lot. Maybe should give Rossi,Cambpell of Dong a chance but also get someone in like Defoe?

Obviousy he cant be replaced because he was a man utd egend, but i think defoe would be a good striker for us to pick up.And i also think that whoever thinks rooney is overrated should get there facts right, because he had a bad season last year and scored the same as ronaldo.

The arrogance of Man U fans is overwhelming. They seem to think they can just cherry pick players from wherever they choose. With the spending power of the top four the premiership becomes a four horse race each year. Buying up all the good players from lesser teams is a sure way to stay at the top but please don't crow about how good you are to the rest of us.

i think Defoe would be a brilliant signing for United
i would steer clear of Anelka though, he has played for Arsenal, Real Madrid and Liverpool, and never fulfilled the potential, he goes to Bolton where he is arguably their best player, and suddenly everyone thinks he is amazing!!
you want a player that can shine whatever team he plays in.
Defoe would be the best bet i reckon
