If you have a computer then you will need tyo speak to a telephone provider to get either a dial-up service or an ADSL service (broadband). I would recommend "Yourphone" at www.yourphone.tv or call them directly on 0800 634 2650 ( I found Gareth and Michelle to be the most helpful). The advantage i found with them was that if I bought the Broadband router I didn't need to sign up for a fixed term deal, and the cost was quite low too.

Good Luck

In order to ask this question you must already have access to the Internet somehow.

We need to know more information about whether you want it at home (assuming you are using a public machine or a friend's machine) or what it is you want to access.

You can get a cable or ADSL package from your phone provider or you can subscribe to a number of other providers, all of which will use your existing phone (BT) line.

Netzero gives you ten hours a month free and do others under free internet service or the like. Any library for an hour. Thirty and sometimes nintey days on like AOL, ugh, and then cancel. Some cities actually have free internet service, if you don't mind moving. May your local counsel could get it too.

The Internet is actually the free exchange of ideas and is not an object or something you can see or touch.
