Priorities.

People are living in poverty but the country has the second biggest armed forces in Asia, spends trillions on Nuclear Weapons, and still has a very strong class (caste) system, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

It also has population growth which remains out of control and cannot be sustained by the land it sits on, without much better organisation of labour and resources.

It has now cornered the market in "offshoring" which basically means that someone in India will do the job of someone in the U.S or UK for a fraction of the wage cost, but greed is already setting in there and this market will soon move to China.

India is developing. It is a long process. Free enterprise in the United States developed over a period of more than 300 years. India is burdened by a large population, limited natural resources and a thousand years of tradition.
