my friend was raped and has a 1 year old child now. the father was recently sentenced to up to 18 years in prison, but now his family wont stop bothering my friend. they keep calling her because they want to see the baby, and make non-physical threats, like that they're going to come to her house i think...and they wont stop calling her. they also use her cousin's to go on her myspace and take pictures of the baby (she doesn't want them to have any pictures of the baby...idk why but she feels very strongly about it). she's thinking about filing a restraining order. would she have a good basis for doing it?

and does it matter if she's an illegal immigrant?
and this is to "CHABNORMAL"...
excuse me... are you trying to say that just because she was raped, she can't take care of the baby herself? fyi she is a better parent that you could ever be (obviously) and she cares and loves for her child and would never do anything to hurt him. the very last thing she would do is give the baby to the man who raped her. hell mofuccin NO.

Tell her to go to the D.A. or what ever they are called there and tell them what is going on.
The child was concieved because of a serious crime, the family of the criminal have absolutely NO rights and your friend's life could be in danger from these idiots!
It is assault at the most and harassment at the very least, but it is still a felony under the circumstances.

Yes she would.
She should call the police and make a complaint and in the meantime, she should keep a written log of every call or contact she gets from the rapist's family.
If there is a victim's advocate in her court system, she should call them and explain her situation as well and if not, call the prosecutor's office that tried the case. That way if she doesn't get satisfaction when she calls the police, she'll have someone else on her side to help.

Yes. It is her right to be free of harrassment. She should call the District Attorney in the county where she lives, if she is in the US.

I pray that the birthright citizenship is revoked. i will in basic terms desire that the unlawful aliens will attempt some thing truly stupid jointly with attempting to burn the cities of this usa. that's the final nail of their coffin. i will assure they are going to be rounded up & deported alongside with our border being heavily secured, so carry it on.

She kept the baby?!?!?!?! Was she really raped? Really... come on? She should give to baby to the fathers family and check herself into a mental facility. My prediction is that she will eventually come to resent the child and probably abuse it.

I can certainly understand why she feels the way she does; however, it is not illegal to threaten to visit someone.
