Hi WY!
The next eclipse of the sun you'll be able to see in Wyoming is on May 20, 2012, when about 80% of the solar disc will be covered by the moon shortly before sunset that afternoon. In the northwest half of the state, the sun sets just before the eclipse ends. The southeast half sees the sun setting partially eclipsed.
Then you'll have another 60% partial eclipse the late afternoon of October 23, 2014.
But you want a TOTAL eclipse of the sun, of course! And you don't have all that long to wait. Shortly before noon August 21, 2017, a total eclipse goes right across Wyoming. I'm sure you'll be there to watch. Totality starts about 11:40 a.m. that morning.
Start your countdown! Less than ten years to go!
By the way, the eclipses of this September, 2007 and August 2008 are completely invisible from Wyoming, and for that matter from anyplace in the United States (except the extreme northern tip of Maine for the 2008 eclipse). The next one in Wyoming is May 20, 2012.

I hope you realize that 99% of the time you have to travel to see a solar eclipse, sometimes great distances. Each eclipse is visible only along a narrow path across the Earth's surface. The path on August 1 starts in the Canadian high Arctic, crosses the Arctic Ocean to northern Siberia, then on to Tibet and ends in central China. You have to be exactly on this path to see the total phase. There are many expeditions going to observe the eclipse at various points along its path, but these are pretty much full at present. Observing a solar eclipse takes a lot of effort and planning, and usually also money, on the part of the participants.

Here is the map.

;-D If you want to see the total eclipse, you have to be in the dark band on the map at the right time. Have fun!

Wikipedia has a list of past and future eclipses listed along with where and when they will be available.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_solar_eclipses
It looks like the next total one in North America will be next year and will be mainly visible in the North East on August 1, 2008.
Also check into these sites...

The stargazer guy used to come on PBS and he is kind of kooky but there is alot of useful information on his site.
I have some pics of the lunar eclipsen (I took them) posted on myspace if you want the link just email me.

Not for years.
Next month is a very partial one. You might be able to see a tad of the sun blocked out, maybe. It's very North, North Pole north.
DON'T OBSERVE IT DIRECTLY, use a sun scope or Welders GLASS (not plastic)
