there are many diffrences but here is the most obious, a hug can be given to any one, a sign of appreiciation or affection, but cuddling on the other hand is intimate, a sign of pure love. you cuddle your love one or your children, but a hug can be given to anyone.

I think its the length of time. A hug is just a short form of cuddle, I suppose. And there's a difference in the feelings involved in a hug and a cuddle too. A hug can say "Hello" or "I'm here for you" or "I'm sorry". But a cuddle is more. Its like "I really enjoy your company and what to be close to you". Although, I think a hug from someone isn't cheating, but having a cuddle might be.

Cuddling lasts a long time. A hug is just for an instant. If it lasts longer than 5 seconds, it's not a hug anymore.

A hug is just a hug while cuddle can lead you to much, much more than just a cuddle.

A hug is putting your arms around someone,cuddling is like sitting close to someone.cheek to cheek ,shoulder to shoulder. Cuddling with a boyfriend/husband in front of a fire,friends keeping each other warm at a chilly football game.
Friends at a campfire ,hearing scary ghost stories.

A cuddle is when two people - generally in a relationship just wrap arms around each other and kinda stay there, real cozy like. A hug is like "see ya later..." and the embrace that goes with it but doesn't go too long.

A hug normally last for a few seconds, but you can cuddle someone for hours if you want.

u could hug ur little brother and it means nothing! it's kinda just between friends! a cuddle is something u do with a boyfriend or someone u loved that's not in ur family!! that's the difference!
