Why do we celebrate people that do not deserve celebrity? Like Mike Vicks, had it all, and then goes into the dog fight business. Lost it all and deserved to lose it all. I think we need to push to expect more of people that are lucky enough to obtain celebrity status. I think they have an obligation to the public to deserve their status. Stop going to see movies of drugged out girls and I'll bet the loss of income straightens their b*tt out. I know the theory of too much too soon and on and on but I don't feel sorry for them-only the general public that is inundated with story after story about them. And the blonde one that married the old guy and then OD'd. Nobody cared about her in life and her tragic story is plaster all over everything for weeks and weeks. Did you really care who's baby she had? I think the press is responsible for all the sensationalism and instead of writing about those that are doing good, it's all about the trash because trash is what sells. If I have to hear any more about OJ I will p*ke.

They don't try to destroy themselves.
In no way am I condoning any illegal or immoral acts, but one can appreciate how celebs might come to do destructive things.
Take Lindsay Lohan for example. She's a kid. A kid who had lunacy as attempts at parenthood. So she is growing up totally public with no real guidance.
Imagine the mistakes that you or your friends have made growing up. Then imagine that in those situations, you had virtually limitless money to complicate things. Imagine that you had no parent who could 'ground' you or whatever. Then imagine that every step you took, 17 photographers snapped pictures.
Then re-complicate matters by framing this in a Hollywood background full of people who either are jealous and want you to fail or are sycophants agreeing with your every word. And competition from other glamorous, sexy young girls who might be 'thinner' or 'prettier'.
It's easy to see why they go astray from where they should be.
Of course, it doesn't stop us from wanting to jump in and shake them and get them to realize what they are doing. Lindsay, Britney, they're all in the same boat.

Some celebrities probably think it is better to be infamous rather than famous because scandals and troubles last longer than achievement...sad. Well, it also could be for the attention.

They don't have to worry about money so they get bored. I think reality must get pretty distorted.
