I have a sony external disk drive and when I put one of these floppys in it says that the disk is not formatted, but I know it was and I know exactly what is on them. How can I get to them because formatting will erase all the data and I want the data.
Please help.

I use WindowsXP home edition now.

It's possible that the disk's directory has deteriorated, so that the computer can't read it. You might try the disk on an older system; hopefully you can retrieve the material that way, and transfer it to a web site so that your new computer can retrieve the images and store them to a CD or DVD. Good luck!

without the program you used to store the data, the computer doesnt know what to do with it and doesnt show it. check to make sure the computer drive works with a known good disk, then check to make sure whatever program you used, office, photoshop, etc. is installed on the new computer...good luck.
