If you are having a problem with cramping because of heavy flow you can increase the amount of iron during that time by eating things like spinach, raisins, and peanut butter (if not allergic to peanuts of course) but doing this isn't going to stop the period once it's started.
It's just going to make having the period less painful for you if cramping is a huge problem for you.
