Whenever I don't have my period I get vaginal discharge that sometimes can be smelt as soon as I undress. It ends up on my undies and can sometimes be crusty and others really runny and wet. It often stings around the vaginal opening and parts of the vulva. I've been to the doctors and they did a swab which said i have a form of thrush however my doctor said it doesn't look like I do. She gave me a cream called Sigmacort but that didn't do anything and this morning it felt worse than it used to. This afternoon she gave me Canestan and it hasn't seemed to help either.

You most likely have an infection. It sounds like a yeast infection or an allergy problem. If you use tampons you may not be able to use them. Maybe there are irritants in your washing detergent or bath soap. You maybe allergic to the meds if it is worse. You need to see a gynecologist for this female problem. If you have already maybe you need to get a second and third opinion.
If you are sexually active you may have contracted some kind of STD. Maybe you will just experience this problem with a change in hormones . You really need to get to the bottom of this, it could be something as a result of an internal problem. I hope you find the help you need soon.

Because of the smell it could be that you have a kind of infection called bacterial vaginosis. Ask your doctor about the possibility of this kind of infection.
