Good Question...especially when you're continually learning and taking in a whole heap of things as time goes by.

But I do believe that 'yourself' is - without having to write a book here - who you are when you're not trying.
"Yourself" is the core of you. The bit that ain't tainted or so much influenced by the world ..........

...........ahhh .... who knows really. I tell you what though ..... as long as you're honestly happy with yourself in that particular moment ... you can't go wrong. Right?

George Herbert Mead, a sociologist, posited that the "self" cannot exist without first being instantiated by society. We learn to think of ourselves as subjects only when in interaction with others. So, in essence, "me" is what others tell me "me" is. So, if a baby is dropped in a forest and does not interact with other human beings, it has no "self," it is like an animal, which can only react, which can not reflect upon its being.

I do not know whether you have written the question while understanding the depth of the question or not.

Actually in different angles your question can be interpreted, so you may have to more specific and clear about your question, if you want proper answers.

I am actually not able to understand in which dimension you are asking the question
Is it in terms of philosophical dimension or casual or mental dimension or relational issue or what ?

you are only what you think you are. the way you think is the way your own unique way of thinking and noone else's. that's you. your values and beliefs and core system, experiences that has made you is you.
you may not always know who you are but try to dig deeper and find out what you have to say about yourself. ask tough questions if you want a real answer. good luck.

It's who you really are. It's that little voice inside of you. It's the dreams you dream. Think when you feel most comfortable - doing what? That's who you are.
