Sometimes, I don't like the thought of killing it.

I don't like to kill bugs. If the bug is in the street, I will never kill him - I think he also has a right to live.
If the bug is in my house, I don't want to kill him, but sometimes I will or my cat will. However there are certain bugs I never kill even if they are in my house - I never kill flies and praying mantis.
Of course, the best thing would be to catch and release them as another YAer has answered, but it's very hard to do, so if I could, I would.

I try to reason with them. I tell them, "Listen, I don't want to have to kill you, but you're in my house. And I can't let you live here. Please leave, or I'll have to kill you."
But they never leave. And then I kill them. At first I feel bad, cause I just ended their life. But then I remember: they're just a little bug, and life can't be that great for them anyway. Sort of like the way higher beings look at us when we die. (What, you didn't know?)
But I usually do try to kill them in a way that is quick and painless. Unless they really pissed me off, which does happen from time to time.

no I never step on bugs or kill them on purpose

yes i feel bad.i have a no kill rule in my house. we do not kill bugs or spiders any thing. we(i always end up doing it) catch and release.
