this will be a interesting election , no one has really hipped you all to this but 4 justices have a really good chance of retiring in the next 2 terms of office for the president ,

what do you think , will it spur you on to get the vote out

I still think Iraq will be the main issue for most voters, but Supreme Court nominations will be THE motivator for the religious right, the anti-abortion crowd. That's why the Republican candidates have already spoken so strongly and so often of their "strict constructionist" views of the constitution and their opposition to Roe v. Wade.

I don't think that will be the main issue for the average voter. It'll probably be the war in Iraq and health care. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing some of those liberal judges go, and replace them with conservative judges. That's what this country desperately needs, more conservatives on the bench of the Supreme Court!

It will only be Iraq if it is going bad. Democrats will force the issue to whatever is not working. I don't think they want to remind people of the justices they appoint.

Yea, Democrat. Souter is no liberal, though he isn't conservative either. Souter is from my state so I know where he falls!

Democrats need to get out and vote as all but 2 of the Supremes were appointed by a Republican, and 4 of them were appointed by the Bush's! The Supreme Court is who delivered Bush Florida and the presidency, even though he lost the popular vote!!

Sex and race will be the biggest issues, but no one will admit it.
